Ghana: Mobile Technology for Global Health
In Ghana, the Grameen Foundation is using mobile applications to improve the quality of
maternal health and childcare. With the MOTECH Mobile Midwife program, pregnant women
can register and receive voice messages that provide reliable advice for a healthy pregnancy.
Smartphones are also used to record health services delivered.

Savana Signatures organises Annual ICT Quiz
Savana Signatures has successfully organised the 2013 Annual Inter Schools ICT Quiz Competition.The Tamale Metropolitan Director of Education, Alhaji M.S Abdul Rahaman was full of praise for the work being done my Savana Signatures in the Region. In the end, Adom Model School from Nkwanta won while the defending champions, Savelugu Experimental School were runners up.

Kanvilli Presby JHS in Tamale emerged winners of an ICT quiz organised
by the Presbyterian Education Unit in Bolgatanga on the 5th of July,
2013.
The quiz competition was part of activities currently being implemented on the Connect4Change (C4C) project which seeks to enhance the teaching and learning of ICT in our schools.

Issues discussed were the challenges, successes and sustainability plans of the various schools. Present were the head and teachers of partner schools, circuit supervisors from the Education Office, Ghana Education Project (GEP) and the District Assembly represented by the Assembly men.

Ghana: Making Cities ‘Smarter’ Through the Use of ICT
Erratic and sporadic water supply, clogged drains, sickened children and unhealthy lives – these are the everyday challenges Janet Adu faces, living in Turlako, a suburb of Accra. Her story is captured in this video and is a vivid reminder that poor sanitation in Ghana accounts for 70 percent of out-patient attendance and 25% of under-five mortality for children. With Ghana’s cities growing at an unprecedented 3.2 percent annually, living conditions for the urban poor like Janet Adu are deteriorating rapidly.
